silence vs voices

I was on my way to clarke quay when i managed to get a seat on the ever-crowded NEL..

sitting beside me was a girl.. She was seated, with her back facing me.. and i thot "how can anyone sit in such an awkard manner? if u dun feel it, i'm feeling it.. cos my left shoulder has no interest in ur back" but when i saw the reflection, i realised that she was "talking" to her fren, and they were using sign language.. no wonder she has to sit facing her fren with her back towards me.. My apologies..

And sitting rite opposite us, an Indian couple.. The ger had her hands wrapped ard the husband(i presume)'s arms.. and her husband were fidgeting with his handphone.. I dunno lah.. but i presume with a handphone in his hands, this electronic gadget will definitely be more interesting than his wife's words..

At this instance, it occurs to me that suddenly, the power of silence is so strong.. I mean, the gers had no ability to speak and hear their voices, but they r concentrating on wat each other;s saying, maintaining the eye contact that they need.. Such conversation is so much more stronger than that of the couple, totally no eye contact for each other..

Is it that we hav taken some thgs which we r born with for granted, or, is it that some thgs r really meant not to be taken seriously?
